Free school lunches continue for Pender County students

SOUTHEASTERN NC (WWAY) — While students in some areas impacted by Hurricane Florence are no longer receiving a free school lunch, that’s not the case in Pender County.

After the storm, the USDA National School Lunch Program provided free meals for students.

Food and nutrition services has extended the program for students in certain counties including Pender, Duplin and Onslow.

Students there can eat at no cost until November 30.
