Brunswick County Habitat for Humanity holds info session at BCCC

BOLIVIA, NC (WWAY) — Brunswick County Habitat for Humanity will soon begin accepting applications for several available slots.

More than two dozen people attended an information session held by the nonprofit on Thursday evening at Brunswick County Community College.

The organization is looking to fill eight slots in the coming months, with five set to be placed in a Leland subdivision that broke ground in April.

Family services coordinator Holly Williams said there are some requirements people will need to meet to be qualified.

“Number 1 is residency, and that can be either living in Brunswick County for a year, working in Brunswick County for a year, or attending a church in Brunswick County for a year,” Williams said.

You would need to be below a certain income level, and there must be a need, like no air conditioning or some sort of damage to your existing home.

Applications will open on August 11th.

The three other spots will be for homes located elsewhere in the county.
