CASTLE HAYNE, NC (WWAY) — A man accused of killing his wife in New Hanover County and fleeing the state has been arrested in South Carolina.

The New Hanover County Sheriff’s Office said deputies found Lynda Neubeck, 68, dead from apparent blunt force trauma during a welfare check on July 24 at a home on Whitewood Way in Castle Hayne.

Investigators identified her husband, David Snow, 61, as the suspect. A warrant was issued for his arrest after authorities determined he had left the area shortly after the incident.

Snow was located and taken into custody without incident Thursday evening by the Georgetown County Sheriff’s Office in Georgetown, South Carolina, according to a news release. He is awaiting extradition to New Hanover County, where he faces a charge of first-degree murder.

The investigation is ongoing. Authorities say more information will be released as it becomes available.
