Time is running out: Get your Valentine’s Day treats while they last

WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) — If you’re looking to get a sweet something for your Valentine, you better hurry because time is running out.

One store in downtown Wilmington has been restocking their shelves all day. Kilwin’s Chocolates says Valentine’s Day one of their busiest holidays.

An employee says their most popular Valentine’s Day treat is their chocolate covered strawberries. She says they start making them around 7 a.m.

Customers have been in and out picking up signature chocolates, fudge and other treats.

“I had stopped at a regular store for normal Valentines for my family,” Cal DesVoigne. “I thought, ‘No, they need something better than that.’ I always loved coming down to Kilwin’s’, and I knew they had something special down here. So that’s why I stopped, and hopefully there are some surprises tomorrow.”

DesVoigne says he has been coming to Kilwin’s for years. His favorites are the candies and fudge.
