Adopted daughter gives North Carolina pastor transplant

CHARLOTTE, NC (WBTV) — Billy Houze is the pastor of the First Baptist Church of Lawndale. An area of the state that’s in desperate need.

“We’re in the upper part of Cleveland County, which is the poorest part of the county,” Houze said.

With textile plant closures, and high unemployment, there’s many that simply go without.

“We, want to make sure that we do all we can for the people in the community,” he said.

Working together with Second Harvest, the church members are able to gather and distribute food items for eighty families to help fill empty stomachs.
