Total road closure planned this week for Riegelwood CSX railroad crossing work
COLUMBUS COUNTY, NC (WWAY) — A total road closure is planned for a Riegelwood railroad crossing all this week.
An emergency track repair is scheduled to begin Monday and run through Friday.
A “surface bend” in the rail has been identified in the crossing at SR 1846-Sand Hole Road and will require the road closure.
No traffic will be allowed across the track until the work is complete.
Signage will be in place marking detour routes. Drivers should expect travel delays and are asked to avoid the area if possible until the work is completed.
