WILMINGTON, N.C. (WWAY) — Despite winning the first two sets, Cape Fear Academy volleyball needed to go the distance at home to take down Wilmington Christian Academy on Monday.

The set scores were 25-18, 25-22, 23-25, 24-26, 15-12.

CFA trailed 19-9 in the 2nd set before finishing on a 16-3 run to take the 2-0 advantage.

The Hurricanes had 24 aces as a team, led by Frankie Osborne’s six. She also had 11 kills and 27 digs to lead CFA.

“As it played out, I definitely think there was some ups and some downs,” Osborne said. “But I think as a team, we were able to come together in the end to win it in five. I think it definitely tested my resilience because like I said earlier, there was a lot of ups and downs. I had a couple bad plays, but then I was able to come back and get my mind set in and I was able to help us win.”

This win improves CFA’s record to 5-0.
