A Tabor City man arrested after allegedly setting house on fire with woman and child inside

COLUMBUS COUNTY, NC (WWAY) — A Columbus County man faces several charges after authorities say he set fire to a home with a woman and 5-year-old child inside.

It happened yesterday at a home on Pete Circle in Tabor City.

According to court documents, James Rico Gore, 54, is charged with first-degree arson, attempted first-degree murder, and resisting a public officer.

Warrants show James Rico Gore, 54, was at the home and attempted to leave the scene.

Gore was taken into custody and is currently being held without bond.
