WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) — Cape Fear Community College is expanding its job training opportunities with the launch of new Landscaping and Horticulture courses through its Economic and Workforce Development division.

According to a news release, the courses are designed to give students in-demand, hands-on skills for careers in landscaping, gardening, and horticultural services. CFCC says all of the new offerings seamlessly articulate into its Landscape Gardening and Horticulture Science degree program, giving students the option to continue on toward an associate degree.

Each 16-week course costs $190. The courses include Horticulture Pest Management, which prepares students to take the North Carolina Commercial Pesticide Ground Applicators License exam; Landscape Construction, which covers essential techniques for building and maintaining outdoor spaces; and Plant Materials, which introduces students to plant identification, selection, and care for successful design.
