Wilmington Fire Department responds to garbage truck on fire

–UPDATE– The fire has been put out and WFD is clearing the scene.

WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) — The Wilmington Fire Department responded to a call of a garbage truck on fire Monday morning.

According to a spokeswoman for the Wilmington Fire Department, they received a call around 10:30 a.m. of a City of Wilmington garbage truck on fire.

Fire crews are now on the scene at Malpass Avenue and Orchard Avenue.
