Leland Fire/Rescue to dedicate new fire engine with Push-In Ceremony

LELAND, NC (WWAY) — The Town of Leland invites the community to celebrate the arrival of Leland Fire/Rescue’s newest fire engine at a Push-In Ceremony on Wednesday.
It will be held from 10:00 a.m. to 11 a.m. at Fire Station 52, located at 1379 River Road.
According to a press release, this event is a chance to meet local firefighters and Town Council members while taking part in a time-honored fire service tradition.
Together, firefighters and community members will help push the new engine into the bay, symbolically placing it into service. Guests can also tour the station, enjoy light refreshments, and explore the new engine’s features. Attendees are encouraged to carpool due to limited parking.
“Replacing our fire engines is an important investment in the safety of our community,” said Mayor Brenda Bozeman. “Ensuring our firefighters have reliable equipment means our residents can count on receiving the best possible help when they need it most.”
