Portion of Dow Road closed as Carolina Beach Police respond to fatal crash UPDATE
–UPDATE– Duke energy crews are on scene and working on repairs to a utility pole. They’re estimating the road could be open by 6 pm.
CAROLINA BEACH, NC (WWAY) — A deadly crash has shut down part of Dow Road in Carolina Beach.
Police say the single-vehicle accident happened just before 11 a.m. on Wednesday. Dow Road is closed between Cape Fear Boulevard and Harper Avenue and is expected to remain shut down for an extended period.
Drivers are urged to use an alternate route while investigators work the scene.
No further details about the victim or cause of the crash have been released at this time.
