Vigil held for victims of Southport shooting
SOUTHPORT, NC (WWAY) — A vigil for those impacted by Saturday night’s mass shooting in Southport was held on Sunday evening at the Southport Baptist Church.
The church was standing room only as hundreds of people gathered inside to honor the victims.
Both Fire Chief Charles Drew and Police Chief Todd Coring spoke during the vigil, followed by several religious leaders from the community.
Additionally, the Billy Graham Rapid Response Team has sent chaplains to Southport to assist the community.
