Wilmington Riverfest returns to downtown for 46th year
WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY-TV) — The Wilmington Riverfest returned for its 46th year in downtown this weekend.
The two-day event kicked off Saturday morning with a street fair and the celebration continued with a car show, live music, food trucks and a drone show Saturday night.
Hundreds of people walked through front street to see the event’s street vendors and food trucks. Riverfest secretary Rachel Rivenbark said the turn out for this year was exciting to see.
“It’s getting better and better every single year,” Rivenbark said. “As you can see more people coming, it’s great for the community, and I hope it grows every single year.”
According to the Riverfest, more than 100,000 visitors and residents attend the celebration every year since its conception in 1979.
