Minority Enterprise and Development Week 2025 kicks off in the Cape Fear

WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) — Minority Enterprise Development week or MED week, is underway in the Cape Fear. The event celebrates minority and women-owned businesses in the Cape Fear Region. 

Minority Enterprise Development week or MED week, is filled with networking opportunities and workshops.  The week dedicated to learning and strengthening the business community. 

Linda Thompson, New Hanover County Chief Civic Engagement Officer, sat down with Tomika Jackson to discuss the week.

“It is eleven years that we have been doing this. We’ve been bringing a planning team with over twenty organizations together to find all kinds of events we can have to help small businesses, minority, and women-owned businesses right here in the Cape Fear,” she said. The event runs through Friday, October 10.
