Pajama Jams to launch fifth annual Wilmington pajama drive to help children in need

WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) — A nonprofit organization is preparing to collect pajamas for children in need across the Wilmington area as part of its annual holiday donation campaign.
Pajama Jams for Youth will hold its fifth annual Wilmington Good Sleep for Good Pajama Drive from Nov. 18 through Dec. 15.
The organization is seeking donations of new pajamas for children and teenagers, with sizes ranging from 5T to adult XXL.
Founded in Virginia Beach in 2008 by Erika Tucker, Pajama Jams says it has distributed more than 30,000 pairs of pajamas to children in need since its founding.
The organization is marking its fifth year of collecting pajamas in Wilmington, working with local businesses, schools and community organizations to distribute donations to families experiencing financial hardship.
This year’s participating community partners include First Bank, YogaSix Wilmington, Nsalo Salon, Hair Republic, nCino and GLOW Academy.
GLOW Academy will also help connect donated pajamas with local students. The nonprofit says it is developing an additional partnership with YWCA Lower Cape Fear to expand its outreach to Wilmington families.
According to the organization, the campaign is intended to provide children with basic bedtime necessities while raising awareness about the importance of healthy sleep.
