Columbus County Sheriff’s Office warns of woman impersonating animal control officer

COLUMBUS COUNTY, NC (WWAY) — The Columbus County Sheriff’s Office is warning residents about a woman reportedly going door-to-door claiming to be from Animal Control and threatening to shoot animals.

Deputies say the woman is not employed by the Columbus County Sheriff’s Office or Animal Protective Services.

The woman has been seen driving a blue vehicle, which is pictured in a photo released by the sheriff’s office.

Anyone who sees the woman or her vehicle is urged to contact the Columbus County Sheriff’s Office immediately at 910-642-6551 or call 911.

Animal Services is actively investigating.
