The Endowment announces 2026 Community Grant Program

WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) — The Endowment announced its 2026 Community Grants Program, in support of eligible community organizations across New Hanover County.
In 2026, the maximum grant award will increase to $15,000, up from $5,000 in 2025. The program remains open to all eligible organizations, but will remain competitive, with total funding capped at $1 million.
The Endowment says this approach ensures that the program provides meaningful support while encouraging innovative and collaborative proposals that address both immediate needs and long-term community resilience
“The 2026 Community Grants Program expands access to The Endowment’s resources for organizations across New Hanover County,” said Sophie Dagenais, Interim President and CEO of The Endowment. “By widening the circle of support, and with larger awards, we want to enable more organizations to pursue solutions that deepen their impact and strengthen our community.”
The program will be administered in two funding cycles, totaling $1 million in available support. Applications for the first cycle will open in early 2026, with a second cycle in the fall.
