WILMINGTON, N.C. (WWAY) — Friday through Sunday, UNCW women’s golf will host the Landfall Tradition Collegiate Invitational for their only home meet of the fall.

A total of 18 schools will be taking part from all over the country.

Some participants were out at Landfall Tradition Thursday for the college am, which serves as a fundraiser for the program. Around $40,000 was raised for athlete scholarships, recruiting expenses and more.

Seahawks head coach Cindy Ho says the venue is perfect given recent renovations.

“Number one, this is a first class country club,” Ho said. “It’s a championship golf course that was just redone with their greens. Just finished like a month ago. These are the first guests. Like right now, the members can’t even bring a guest. These are the first guests that will have played on this golf course. I think about women’s golf and they’re doing it for us.”

Admission and parking is free for the three-day tournament.
