WILMINGTON, N.C. (WWAY) — The Wildcats got their revenge on Thursday when they picked up a 2-1 road win at Laney.

In their matchup earlier this season, the Bucs won at New Hanover for the first time in ten years.

Tre Bennett broke the ice midway through the 1st half to put the Wildcats ahead.

Keinner Martinez doubled that lead in the 2nd half before Henry Tidey put the Bucs on the board with a late penalty kick.

“I think that’s a big win for us,” Martinez said. “Trying to have some home playoff games. It’s just one more. We’ve been talking about this a lot in practice. Just trying to face big teams, get ready for them and have a good playoff run.”

Also on Thursday, Hoggard clinched their fourth straight conference title with a win over North Brunswick.
