Gun found at North Brunswick High School

LELAND, NC (WWAY) — On Monday, law enforcement located and safely secured a firearm on North Brunswick High School campus after a report was submitted.

The report was submitted through North Brunswick High School’s reporting process.

Administrators partnered with Brunswick County Sheriff’s Office and the Leland Police Department to investigate a possible prohibited item on campus.

No injuries were reported. Brunswick County Schools says their reporting systems and vigilance of the student, staff and families were key in ensuring safety and rapid response.

The district says they will continue to work closely with the Brunswick County Sheriff’s Office and the Leland Police Department to support the safety of students and staff.
