Two Wilmington residents split $1 million top lottery prize

RALEIGH, NC (WWAY) — A one-million-dollar lottery ticket was sold in Wilmington, and the winners have big plans for the future.
Krystal Hastings and James Patana of Wilmington bought a $10 scratch-off from Harris Teeter on Parker Farm Road and won the top prize.
In a press release, Patana said with their winnings from the Lucky Loteria game they’re planning on buying a house.
The winners had the option of an annuity of $50,000 over 20 years or a lump sum of $600,000. They chose the lump sum and decided to split the prize with each claiming $300,000.
The Lucky Loteria game debuted in March with four top prizes of $1 million. Two $1 million prizes remain to be claimed.
