Wilmington man faces multiple charges after deadly collision

WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) — A man has been taken into custody following a crash resulting in a fatality last month.

Just after 5:15 p.m. on October 23rd, the Wilmington Police Department responded to a collision at Shipyard Boulevard and Troy Drive.

A vehicle driven by 29-year-old Romello Seth of Wilmington failed to stop at a stop sign and struck a Jeep as it was crossing Troy Drive.

As a result, the vehicle hit a nearby pedestrian, 39-year-old Zachary Pearce. Pearce later died at the hospital. 

Seth was taken into custody on Sunday and given a $50,000 secured bond.

Seth is being charged with misdemeanor death by motor vehicle, driving while license revoked, possession schedule VI-controlled substance, possession of marijuana paraphernalia, seatbelt violation, fail to stop for stop sign, and fail to yield right of way resulting in serious injury.
