WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) — Lower Cape Fear LifeCare, a non-profit, announced they received the highest distinction awarded by the National Hospice and Palliative Care Organization and the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs.

The North Carolina team successfully renewed their level five status in the ‘We Honor Veterans’ program.

All Level Five partners must resubmit annually to demonstrate continued excellence in providing veteran-centered care.

“Our team works every day to ensure that those who served our nation receive the respect, comfort, and compassion they deserve,” said Gwen Whitley, President and CEO of Lower Cape Fear LifeCare.

Lower Cape Fear LifeCare’s North Carolina team has honored veterans through pinning ceremonies, educational events, and partnerships with organizations.

The press release goes on to say the South Carolina branch is also at a Level Five.
