New Hanover tops Fuquay-Varina 2-1 in 7A playoffs

WILMINGTON, N.C. (WWAY) — New Hanover boys soccer won their NCHSAA 3rd round playoff game over Fuquay-Varina on Monday 2-1.

Around 15 minutes in, a Tre Bennett cross found the foot of Olive Cook, who then scored top shelf to give the Wildcats the first goal of the game.

New Hanover will visit Ashley on Thursday in round four after the Eagles knocked off Holly Springs 3-2 in overtime on Monday.
