WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) — The Friends of the Battleship North Carolina, a local non-profit that supports the Battleship North Carolina, launched their 4th Annual Wreaths of Honor program.

The purpose is to uniquely honor the service of veterans and active-duty service members this holiday season.

270 wreaths were displayed last year as part of the Wreath of Honor program.

To participate, you can purchase a 20-inch evergreen weather for $40 from the Friends of the Battleship and it’ll be displayed on the lifelines of the Battleship North Carolina from December 7th through the first weekend of the New Year.

The wreaths will be decorated with ribbon and have a personalized name card with the branch and years served of the person being honored.

Those who buy a wreath of honor will get a photograph of their wreath via email.

The wreaths can be ordered online, and all orders must be placed by Thanksgiving.
