New H.O.P.E. CDC launches ‘School Zones of HOPE’ assistance program

WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) — A local non-profit organization is providing financial assistance to families during the holiday season.
New H.O.P.E CDC (Helping Ordinary People Excel) announced another round of H.O.P.E in School Zones in partnership with United Way of Cape Fear funded by The Endowment.
The financial assistance program is designed to support families with children attending select schools in New Hanover County.
Starting Monday, November 17th, eligible families will be able to apply for aid to cover past-due rent, utilities arrears, and essential car repairs.
Those looking to apply can do so online and are encouraged to apply as soon as possible as funding is limited.
Parents or guardians with children in the following schools are eligible:
- Virgo Preparatory Academy
- Freeman Elementary School
- Snipes Elementary School
- Gregory Elementary School
- Williston Middle School
- Forest Hills Elementary School
- New Hanover High School
