‘The Unseen Walk;’ Port City Church display shares stories of refugees and the displaced

WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY-TV) —  A local church is raising awareness about those who have been displaced due to natural disaster, violence, political differences and religious persecution.

Port City Community Church has installed a new education display on a trail near their building. The installation informs visitors about the hardship faced by those who they say go unseen while displaced.

The path features stories of individuals who are displaced across the globe and locally. The display has been installed during a time of crackdown from Immigration and Customs Enforcement across the country.

Corey Bullock, director of mobilization at Port City Church said the display encourages visitors to consider the lives of those who face displacement.

“Times are definitely uncertain for asylum-seekers and refugees but I think what this walk envisions is hope for everyone who is a part of the process both people who are seeking a new home and people who are on the other side of it as well,” Bullock said.

The installation will be on display through this weekend. Click here to see a digital version of the display.
