Day after Graystone Inn Fire, crews continue to battle hotspots UPDATE

UPDATE (1:20 pm):

WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) — The Wilmington Fire Department provided a road updated for Downtown Wilmington regarding the Graystone Inn fire.

As of noon on Saturday, Third Street reopened.

This update comes after crews were on scene in the morning battling hot spots from Friday’s fire on South Third Street.

WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) — The Wilmington Fire Department says crews are back on scene of the Graystone Inn fire Saturday morning in downtown Wilmington.

Firefighters are putting out hot spots that rekindled.

Officials ask for the public to continue to avoid the area as firefighters work.

Third Street is closed from Market Street to Orange Street.

Crews spent much of Friday trying to put out the blaze on South Third Street.
