Sunset Beach Police Department invites public to rehabilitated pelican release

SUNSET BEACH, NC (WWAY) — The Sunset Beach Police Department is inviting the public to the release of rehabilitated pelicans.

Three pelicans will be released back into their coastal home by Animal Control Officer Arp on Friday at 1 p.m. at the Sunset Beach Fishing Pier.

The birds have been at the non-profit wild bird rehabilitation center in Brunswick County, Sea Biscuit Wildlife Shelter.

All three pelicans have made a full recovery and ready to go back home.
