New Hanover eliminated in 7A semis by Chapel Hill 3-1

WILMINGTON, N.C. (WWAY) — A strong postseason run for New Hanover boys soccer came to a halt on Tuesday after the Wildcats were eliminated in the Class 7A semifinals 3-1 by Chapel Hill.

The game was tied at one at the end of regulation. The Tigers scored twice in the first overtime period and held on to earn a trip to the state title game on Friday in Greensboro.
