BLADEN COUNTY, NC (WWAY) — Bladen County Animal Control and Shelter is inviting the public to help spread holiday cheer to shelter animals.

On December 9th, they’ll host a volunteer day for people to fill stockings for their adoptable animals.

The shelter says they’ll be filling approximately 100 stockings with toys, treats, collars, leashes, and blankets.

If any of the animals get adopted before Christmas, their stockings will go to their new home with them.

The volunteer day will start at 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. and will include cleaning, playing with dogs, stuffing stockings, and delivering toys and treats.

Applicates must be at least 18 years old and are welcome to bring their own stockings and stocking items to donate to the shelter pets.

If you are unable to attend, you can still help by dropping off stockings, toys, treats, collars/leashed, blankets/towels, and monetary donations to the shelter.
