Governor Stein pardons two turkeys from the Thanksgiving table

RALEIGH, NC (WWAY) — On Friday, Governor Josh Stein pardoned two turkeys from the Thanksgiving table at the Governor’s mansion.
Krispy and Kreme were pardoned as part of the annual Turkey Pardon Ceremony.
Stein was joined by Tim Thomas, President of the North Carolina Poultry Federation and partners from Butterball.
Butterball announced at the event that it would donate 1,500 turkey breasts to the Food Bank of Central and Eastern North Carolina.
Krispy and Kreme were 19-week-old hens that weigh roughly 45 pounds.
Following their pardon, they will return home and live out their days at the Naylor Family Farm.
