City of Southport introduces Pop-Up Ice Skating to Winterfest 2025

SOUTHPORT, NC (WWAY) — City of Southport announces a new addition to this year’s Winterfest celebrations which brings a classic winter tradition to the coast.

From December 5th through December 13th the Fort Johnston Tennis Courts will be transformed to a full-size rink for Pop-Up Ice Skating.

The public can skate Fridy through Sunday from noon to 8 p.m. or Monday through Thursday from 3 p.m. to 8 p.m. for $15 with skate rental.

All ages are welcome to participate but children 5 and under are recommended to wear a helmet.

“Winterfest has always been about bringing people together and creating memorable holiday moments,” said Allayna D. Taylor, Director of Community Relations for the City of Southport. “We’re thrilled to offer this exciting new experience that adds to the fun and magic of the season.
