Attorney General Jeff Jackson to visit Columbus County

WHITEVILLE, NC (WWAY) — Attorney General Jeff Jackson is scheduled to visit Columbus County on Tuesday to highlight the millions needed for disaster preparedness funds.
Jackson will highlight more than $200 million in resiliency funding for North Carolina that FEMA canceled while the lawsuit challenging the cancellation is heard in court.
One of North Carolina’s 60 cancelled projects was $3.7 million in funds to improve drainage and add bridges in parts of the county.
The project is said to help address flooding risks from increased rainfall and storms and prevent floods from damaging homes and infrastructure.
