ONSLOW COUNTY, NC (WWAY) — The Onslow County Sheriff’s Office is trying to reunite an unusual lost item with its owner: an oversized Paw Patrol mascot head.

According to the sheriff’s office Facebook, deputies found the large, law-enforcement-themed dog head along the U.S. 17 bypass near Montford Landing Road during routine patrol. After confirming it was not a new deputy, not attempting to join the force, and not linked to a cartoon crime spree, officials determined it was simply a missing costume piece.

If this giant canine noggin belongs to you, your child, your school, your event, or if you personally misplaced your enormous dog identity, the sheriff’s office would love to reunite you.

The department says Chase may be “on the case,” but for now, he’s also sitting on their hood waiting to be claimed.
