Good Friends of Wilmington hosts 28th annual Santa Luncheon
WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY-TV) – Good Friends of Wilmington hosted their 28th annual Santa Luncheon today at the Wilmington Convention Center.
The non-profit organization raises funds to provide financial assistance to those in need in New Hanover County.
Kelly Pittman, board chair of Good Friends, said the contributions raised at the luncheon will fund emergency housing, medical needs and help those falling through the cracks.
“What’s really amazing is the energy that comes through when you have this many women in a room who are focused on giving back to their community,” Pittman said.
Several public figures including WWAY anchor Matt Bennett, dressed up as Santa Claus to greet attendees and collect donations at the luncheon.
