Wilmington launches Minority Chamber of Commerce to strengthen support for local businesses
NEW HANOVER COUNTY (WWAY) — A new extension of the Wilmington Chamber of Commerce has officially launched to reach all parts of the local business community.
On Wednesday, the Wilmington Minority Chamber of Commerce officially launched to empower and elevate minority businesses across the Cape Fear Region.
This new addition is designed to be an extension of the current chamber and will reach into all parts of the community.
The chamber provides support to minority business owners by providing education, network opportunities, and avocation.
Executive Director for the Minority Chamber of Commerce, Atiba Johnson, says they are here to connect the dots.
“The Chamber’s done an amazing job already previously in getting information and news out. It doesn’t seep all the way into some communities, and our board and our staff and team actually reach a little further down, and our job is to actually just connect the dots.”
The Minority Chamber will have an official launch ceremony further down the line, and those details have not yet been set.
