Man arrested on drug charges following traffic stop in Wilmington

WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) — A Wilmington man is facing multiple drug charges after a traffic stop late Sunday night on South Kerr Avenue.
According to the Wilmington Police Department, an officer conducted a traffic stop around 10:18 p.m. after seeing a vehicle make an improper right turn. The driver was identified as 32-year-old Marco Galloway.
Police say while speaking with Galloway, the officer detected the odor of marijuana coming from inside the vehicle. Galloway was asked to exit the vehicle, and officers searched the vehicle.
During the search, police say they found more than 20 grams of crack cocaine. Galloway was taken into custody.
Galloway has been charged with possession with intent to manufacture, sell, or deliver cocaine; possession of cocaine; possession of marijuana; possession of drug paraphernalia; and no operator’s license.
He is currently being held without bond at the New Hanover County Sheriff’s Office Detention Center.
