Man killed in single-vehicle crash on Highway 74/76 in Columbus County

WHITEVILLE, NC (WWAY) — A man from Bolton was killed Monday morning in a single-vehicle crash on Highway 74/76 in Columbus County.

According to the Whiteville Police Department, the crash happened around 10:45 a.m.  in the westbound lanes.

An investigation determined a blue Honda Accord was traveling at a high rate of speed when the driver overcorrected and crashed. The driver, identified as 44-year-old Anthony Shannon Arp of Bolton, was located at the scene and pronounced dead.

Officials said no other vehicles were involved in the crash.
