Good Shepherd Center spreads holiday cheer with toy drive for Wilmington families

NEW HANOVER COUNTY (WWAY) — Good Shepherd Center in Wilmington hosted a toy drive for children and families in need in hopes of spreading the Christmas spirit.

Dozens of cars lined up at Good Shepherd Center Wednesday in order to have their trunks filled with Christmas cheer for their children and families.

Good Shepherd passed out toys ranging from bicycles, stuffed animals, and games to neighbors in the community who need a little help this holiday.

Katrina Knight, executive director of Good Shepherd Center, says everyone should feel joy this time of year.

“It’s a time when every, every little kid should feel remembered by Santa. If in some small way we can help make that happen it just, it makes our holidays too,” said Knight.

Knight is grateful for the community’s support through all of the donations the center receives and for the hundreds of toys that were able to be passed out Wednesday.
