Carolina Beach Nourishment project suspended until February

CAROLINA BEACH, NC (WWAY) — The Town of Carolina Beach announced on Thursday the beach nourishment project will be temporarily demobilizing.
The current dredge will move to another location and work will stop in Carolina Beach. The project will resume in mid-February when a new dredge arrives.
In the meantime, the contractor will regularly have crews on the beach to ensure no issues arise with the piping and equipment.
Carolina Beach and Kure Beach plan to host the Army Corps of Engineers at an open house to show the progress of the project and the future plans, including changes to where the sand will be placed.
