Thalian Hall hosts New Year Eve’s Gala

WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY)– “It’s New Year’s Eve in Wilmington, that’s what we are doing here!”

The party to 2026 has officially started at Thalian Hall, the Center for the Performing Arts, with its New Year’s Eve Gala 2025.

The party had open bars, multiple party rooms, food, and an invitation to Opera House Theatre Company’s “Rock of Ages”

Randy McKay, the President of Carolina Theater in Durham, says he enjoys going to the New Year Eve’s party in Wilmington so much, that he will have to take the tradition to Durham.

“This will probably be my last at Thalian Hall which is sad because they do New Year’s Eve like no one else at this incredible building”, said McKay

The party was filled with fancy dresses, suits, and people excitedly waiting for 2026; and no one else was excited for the new year than Terry Espy, former President of Board of Trustees at Thalian Hall, who says the future for Thalian Hall looks great for 2026.

“One of the things I am really excited about is this room we are in. It’s going to be end up being a 3-dimensional hall, and it’s actually being designed by the guys who did the sphere in Vegas”, said Espy.

Although the party will end in early 2026, the performances will stay, and Tom Rosamilia, board member at Thalian Hall, says the shows coming, like “Rock of Ages”, are a great time for anybody.

“Any of the shows, or the movies, it’s great. It’s a family friendly place, whether its couples, or if you have kids, said Rosamilia.

Tickets for “Rock of Ages” are available now, and performances will start on January 2nd.
