Zora’s Market & Kitchen announces weekly free fish program

WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) — Chef Dean Neff and his team at Zora’s Market and Kitchen announced their way of giving back to the community with the introduction of a new program.

Zora’s Fish Bank is a free fish program that utilizes Black Sea Bass raised and donated by the UNCW Aquaculture Department to give families access to food.

The restaurant is giving away Black Sea Bass every Thursday and Friday from 10:30 a.m. to 7 p.m. as long as they have it available. The giveaway is first come, first serve and intended for families in need of a meal.

To sign up, stop by Zora’s a put your name down on a Wednesday. They will cut the fish how it works best for you. There are two fish per pick up and the company recommends checking their Instagram page for updates.

According to the website, the fish is high in protein and rich in nutrients like vitamin B12, selenium, and omega-3 fatty acids.

Zora’s says the fish were grown in clean and controlled tanks.
