Wilmington Convention Center donates more than 3,000 pounds of food to local non-profits

WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) — The Wilmington Convention Center donated 3,119 pounds of food this past year to local non-profits.
The donations confirm the city’s commitment towards food recovery, and waste reduction.
“These efforts reflect the thoughtful planning of our culinary and operations teams and the strong partnerships we have with local organizations,” said Wilmington Convention Center Director of Operations Mac Goodrum. “We are extremely proud to give back to organizations that are making a difference right here in our own community, and we look forward to continuing these efforts throughout the year.”
Donations were spread amongst the following organizations:
- 86 Hungers Now
- Good Shepherd
- Living HOPE
- Salvation Army
- Temple Baptist Church
- The Anchor
All donations were made in compliance with federal, state, and local laws.
