Abandoned structure fire at North College Road and Castle Hayne Road
Wilmington, NC (WWAY) — New Hanover County Fire Department was dispatched to an abandoned structure fire around 4 this morning on North College Road.
When crews responded, they initially had issues finding the fire as it was hidden by thick brush, but they were eventually flagged down. Crews were able to extinguish the fire with a water shuttle operation.
The operation caused North College Road to be shut down temporarily, causing traffic delays at the roundabout of North College and Castle Hayne Road.
The house was deemed a total loss, and there were no victims involved in the fire.
