The Children’s Museum of Wilmington to host first Sensory Sunday of 2026

WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) — The Children’s Museum of Wilmington announced they’ll host their first Sensory Sunday of the new year.
The event will take place on February 1 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the museum.
This will offer a sensory-friendly experience for children with sensory sensitivities and their families.
Guest can expect fewer people, light and sound reductions, and designated calming spaces to help create a comfortable environment. The museum will also offer free “Power Packs,” headphones, and sound maps.
“Since launching in 2022, this program has become an important way we support inclusive play for our community, and we’re excited to begin 2026 by welcoming families back for another sensory-friendly day of learning and exploration,” Jessie Goodwin, executive director of the museum said.
Sensory Sunday is $5 a person and tickets can be bought online or at the door.
The museum will continue to host the event throughout the year with the next event being scheduled for April 12.
