Blue Cross NC encourages early prescription refills for members ahead of winter storm impacts

DURHAM, NC (WWAY) — Ahead of an upcoming winter storm, Blue Cross and Blue Shield of North Carolina customers can access early prescription refills through February 20, 2026.

This is to ensure North Carolinians can continue taking their prescription drugs without interruption.

This follows a declaration of a State of Emergency by Governor Josh Stein for the state.

Early prescription refills for Blue Cross NC customers must be made while the state of emergency declaration is in effect. This policy does not apply to controlled substances.
