State Ferry Division to host Southport career fair Wednesday

SOUTHPORT, NC (WWAY) — The Ferry Division is set to host a career fair for jobseekers at the end of the month in Brunswick County.

The career fair will be on January 28 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Southport Ferry Terminal at 1650 Ferry Road.

The focus is to find temporary and seasonal employees for the upcoming summer. NCDOT says that season employees are important and are often the first ones looked at for permanent roles.

Applications will be accepted at the event at all experience levels, from general utility worker to experienced boat captains. Those seeking permanent employment can still attend the event to learn more about open positions.

In addition, crew members will be offering tours of ferry vessels and be there to answer questions about various roles. The tours will be available at 10:30 a.m., 11:15 a.m., and 12:30 p.m.
