As temperature begins to drop, Warming Shelter ILM gets ready to open for a week
WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY)– On Saturday, volunteers helped set up food, cots, and blankets to help those without a home at Grace United Methodist Church
Ahead of a very cold week, the Warming Shelter ILM is planning to be open each night, until January 31st.
With the shelter being open for the fourth time this winter season, and it being open for such a long period of time, David Mallick with the Warming Shelter ILM, says they can use all the help they need.
“What I would like to see is the community to continue to support the work we do. It doesn’t have to monetary; it doesn’t have to muscle; it can literally be spreading the word to someone who can provide those specific needs that we do need,” said Mallick.
